Philips
In 2021, I joined Philips as the Head of Creative for North America Health Systems. I built and led a new in-house creative team responsible for omni-channel campaign development and activation. Together, we collaborated with external agencies and internal teams to build a unified brand expression across all marketing and communication touch points.
As part of the North America Marketing Leadership Team, I drove overarching creative strategy and design direction, optimized the global agency ecosystem by leading the North America agency of record transition to Omnicom, and defined and deployed new processes, systems and capabilities across the organization.
AT&T
From 2013 to 2020, I served as Director of Brand Identity and Design at AT&T, helping to build a robust internal brand design competency. Historically, the strategic direction and management of the brand identity was decentralized and outsourced to external agencies. Our fledgling Global Marketing Organization was tasked with bringing thought leadership, strategic direction, and ownership of the brand expression into the steady hands of AT&T employees.
While at AT&T, I led the strategic creative direction of branded experiences and design systems across multiple segments of the business. I had the privilege of leading and working alongside many talented agencies, teams, and individuals to build identity systems and design solutions that support and enable strategic business and marketing objectives.
Mary Kay
From 2006 to 2013, I served as Creative Director for Mary Kay, leading the Global Brand and Packaging Design Team responsible for developing design strategies and solutions across all product lines and global sales regions.
I managed a worldwide network of internal teams and external vendors to support the concept, development and production of packaging solutions across all skin care, cosmetic, and fragrance lines. We partnered with cross-functional teams to develop brand and product architectures, marketing frameworks, product and model photography, branded experiences, and the Pink Cadillac Career Car Program.
Agency Life
Prior to Mary Kay, I served in a variety of design and art direction leadership roles for agencies including RBMM/The Richards Group, Swieter Design, and The Buntin Group.
During my time on the agency side, I developed creative solutions for brands in a variety of industries including: AT&T, Baylor Medical Center, Case Knives, Children’s Medical Center, ClubCorp, DIRECTV, Duck Head Apparel, ExxonMobil, FirstNet, First American Bank, Fruit of the Loom, Gaylord Entertainment / Opryland Hotel, Harold’s Clothing, Hyundai, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Neiman Marcus, Nokia, Putnam Publishing, Sotheby’s International Realty, Sub-Zero, The Home Depot, Unefon, Vrio, and WarnerMedia.
My work has been recognized by numerous design publications and organizations, including AIGA, Los Angeles Art Directors Club, Graphis, Print Magazine, Communication Arts, The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design - GOOD Design Awards Environmental Award, and the Graphis Design Annual 2017 Award for Exhibit Design - Gold Award.
Education
In 1995, I received a BA in Advertising/Public Relations from the University of South Carolina, where I played soccer on both the collegiate and professional levels. After saying farewell to my soccer career, I turned my attention back to design and continued my studies at The Creative Circus School of Design in Atlanta, GA, where I received portfolio of the year honors.
